Judge Sheila McGinnis was arrested last Friday night in Tinley Park after her Trailblazer hit the back of a minivan. Witnesses told police she was weaving in and out of traffic and flashing her headlights just before the crash.
No one was injured.
Police say the 47-year-old judge refused a sobriety test and would not answer questions.
Judge McGinnis has been removed from her courtroom duties until further notice.
