Wine might be good for the liver

This study in the June issue of Hepatology challenges conventional wisdom. It found that those who drank one glass of wine a day had half the risk of suspected NAFLD compared to non drinkers.

But people who reported modest consumption of beer or liquor had more than four times the risk of having suspected liver disease than those who drank wine.

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease is said to be the most common liver disease in the country and can lead to cirrhosis.
