ComEd workers robbed at gunpoint

CHICAGO It happened Tuesday at 115th and Princeton.

ComEd says this is the fifth time this year its workers have been robbed despite a new that that makes an attack on a utility worker a felony.

"It does happen throughout the industry a lot and there's a lot of employees, so it's definitely very scary," said Mike Hammang, co-worker attacked

Peoples Energy also strongly supports the new law with longer prison sentences. The company has seen a rash of attacks on employees in recent years, including one in 2005 where the worker was shot during a robbery and survived.
