Governor Blagojevich got a first hand look at flooded areas in southeastern Illinois Friday. He met with local officials and state responders at a school in Lawrenceville after touring the region.

The state has been using the school as a distribution site for residents without drinking water.

Tuesday, the governor declared six southeastern Illinois counties disaster areas.
