Both homes have considerable damage.
No one inside the two homes was injured. One firefighter was taken to Northwestern Memorial and treated for exhaustion.
Fire damages 2 homes on Northwest Side
Fire was reported about 10:15 p.m. at a house on the 1900 block of West Cortland. The fire quickly spread to a nearby home. It took firefighters about an hour to contain the fire.
