George Huff Jr.'s family says he was attacked while out for a late-night walk. Huff was taken to a hospital, where he died.
The victim's son told ABC7 Sunday that Huff was a great-grandfather, a hard worker and dedicated family man.
"He's a great guy, very loving, taught me everything I know about being a man. My heart is heavy. I'm absolutely gonna miss this guy," said George Huff III.
The elderly man's son also told ABC7 Chicago that someone tried to break into his father's home after he was hospitalized, but he's not sure whether the two incidents are connected.
