World's best pool players to compete

Following her childhood dream of becoming the best in the world, she continues to be a dominant presence on the international billiard scene. Ewa is the current International and World Cup Trick Shot Champion, the holder of multiple World and US Open 9-ball titles, and has also won the Swedish, European and US National Championships in her incredible career. A former number one ranked player in the world, Ewa has received Player of the Year honors, been named WPBA Sportsperson of the Year, and in 2004, was inducted into the prestigious Billiard Congress of America Hall of Fame.

This dynamic champion made an historic appearance on the cover of the New York Times Magazine and has been featured in numerous national publications, including People Magazine, Sports Illustrated, Forbes, Glamour, Golf for Women and Cigar Aficionado. Ewa is also a frequent guest on television shows such as Late Night with David Letterman, The Today Show, The Early Show, Current Affair, LIVE with Regis and Kelly, Entertainment Tonight and The Best Damned Sports Show, Period.

When not competing, Ewa serves as the ESPN Color Commentator. She also co-hosted GSN's popular game show "Ball Breakers."

Blue Chip Casino Hotel hosts world's best women pool players in Great Lakes Classic

The world's best female pool players will battle for the top spot when Blue Chip Casino Hotel, Michigan City, Indiana hosts the Great Lakes Classic June 26-29. Tickets are on sale now for the Women's Professional Billiard Association (WPBA) tournament, hosted for the fourth year by Blue Chip Casino Hotel and one of eight ESPN-televised events on the women's pro billiard tour this year.

This year's field of 64 competitors includes defending champion Xiaoting Pan. Looking to take back the title is top-ranked player Allison Fisher, who won both the 2005 and 2006 Great Lakes Classic titles as well as the first tournament this year, the San Diego Classic.

Competition begins Thursday, June 26 and continues through Sunday, June 29. Tickets are $10 plus tax for all-day tournament play on Thursday, June 26, which runs from 11 am to 5 pm and 6 pm to midnight. All day tickets are $15 plus tax on Friday, June 27, with tournament play from 11 am to 5 pm and from 6 pm to midnight. On Saturday, June 28, tickets for the first session, from noon to 4 pm, and for the second session, from 5 pm to 11 pm, cost $20 plus tax per session. All-day tickets for the semi-finals and finals, to be held on Sunday, June 29 starting at 1 pm, cost $50 plus tax. No one under 21 will be admitted.
