Piven and Dec have made the Piven Theatre Workshop Annual Benefit the talk of the town, having first successfully hosted the 30th anniversary of the Theatre six years ago. In previous years, special guests have included many celebrated alumni and actors such as John Cusack, Kate Walsh and Aidan Quinn, professional athletes, media, and other local celebrity supporters.
Jeremy's mother, Artistic Director Emeritus Joyce Piven who founded the Piven Theatre Workshop with her late husband Byrne added, "Our Mission has always been to create an artistic community that fosters community outreach. The results of the process we have developed here have far exceeded our expectations. This annual benefit does so much to help continue the unique and celebrated Legacy of the Piven Theatre Workshop."
Piven Theatre Workshop's Executive Director Jennifer Sultz added, "Piven Theatre Workshop annually provides for approximately $30,000 worth of need-based scholarships and this event is instrumental in funding not only those scholarships but also our many community outreach programs throughout the Chicago area. The Piven training method is so inspiring in its ability to allow students access to their creativity and develop skills that will greatly benefit them no matter what path in life they choose to follow."
