Elmhurst Marine buried in D.C.

WASHINGTON U.S. Marine Dawid Pietrek was buried Tuesday with full military honors in Arlington National Cemetery.

The 24-year-old was killed during combat in Afghanistan. Pietrek was from Poland and came to America on a green card he won in a lottery.

Before entering the military, he worked for Polish Home Care in Chicago and lived with several different families in Elmhurst.
