Chicago Police Superintendent Jody Weis has reportedly met with state police about possible help fighting violence in Chicago. Last week, Governor Rod Blagojevich called violence in the city an epidemic in some neighborhoods and suggested state police help.

Monday's meeting included discussions on curbing street gang violence. Sources say there was also talk of re-instating the state's gun trafficking unit and how to share more intelligence on gangs and crime.
