Some parents don't heed cold med warning

Not all parents are apparently listening to the government warnings that over-the-counter cold medications should not be given to children 2 or younger. A new study finds a significant percentage of small children going to emergency rooms with an apparently life threatening event had ingested over the counter cold and cough medications. Such medicines can cause apnea, cessation of breathing in young children.

The study appears in the journal Pediatrics.
