A large yellow truck dumped the ducks into the water at the Columbus bridge. Then, they raced to the finish line at Michigan Avenue.
Before the race, sponsors 'adopted' the ducks.
The event raised money for the Special Olympics of Illinois.
An eye-catching sight could be witnessed on the Chicago River Friday as 30,000 bright yellow ducks bobbed up and down in the water. The third annual 'Rubber Ducky Derby' took place Friday.
