Police warn seniors about tel. scam

Chicago Police are warning senior citizens about a telephone scam.Police say people are calling seniors claiming to work for the bank and say that they are conducting an investigation.

Seniors are then asked to withdraw money from their account to aid in the investigation. The seniors are told to put the money in an envelope and leave it in their mailbox.

Police advise seniors to ask callers for their name and phone number and to call 911 immediately to report suspicious activity.
