Nequiel Fowler was killed Monday afternoon. Residents and members of the anti-violence group Ceasefire took to the streets Wednesday night calling for action.
"This was senseless," said Ameena Matthews, CeaseFire violence interrupter. "It should not ever happened. I'm not understanding what's going on in our community. She was a good person, and it was sad for me to see her like that. When I came out, I just started crying."
Residents marched down Exchange at 87th Street to call attention to gang violence.
