Dogs rescued from building collapse on South Side

Firefighters responding to a building collapse on the city's South Side ended up rescuing several dogs. It happened at a vacant garage near 57th and State Street late Thursday night. The fallen bricks and debris apparently trapped five dogs inside the building. All the dogs were OK.

Animal control workers helped the dog's owner gather all the animals in a fenced lot next door.

It's not clear exactly what may have caused the partial collapse.
