A major retailer wants to jumpstart holiday toy sales. Wal-Mart said it's cutting prices early on several popular toys now.

Some Barbie dolls and toy trucks will be sold for $10. Wal-Mart also plans to open its in-store Christmas shops by October 10.

The retailer says the move is to help offset what's expected to be the worst holiday sales season in 17 years.
