Music may reduce pregnancy stress

Pregnant women may need music to take the edge off.

A new study in Taiwan shows music may reduce the stress, anxiety and depression that many pregnant women experience.

Researchers studied 236 pregnant women in their second and third trimesters. They found those who listened to music for 30 minutes a day for two weeks significantly reduced their stress anxiety and depression, compared with participants who did not.

The study is published in the Journal of Clinical Nursing.
