Weight-loss surgery could cut cancer risk

Weight-loss surgery for the morbidly obese has proven to have health benefits against diabetes and heart problems. Now you can add one more to that lists. New evidence suggests the procedure may also decrease a person's risk of cancer by as much as 80 percent.

Doctors say there has long been a very strong association between obesity and cancer.

This study also found the breast cancer risk was lowered by 83 percent in people after having weight-loss surgery.
