Anesthesia linked to behavior disorder in kids
Doctors from Columbia University studied a group of children born between 1999 and 2000.
They identified 625 children under age 3 who were given general anesthesia for hernia surgery.
Doctors compared them with a random sample of 5,000 kids the same ages.
They found the anesthesia-exposed kids were twice as likely to be diagnosed with developmental or behavior disorder.
