Baxter to donate $5 million to CPS science

CHICAGO The money will be donated over five years and part of it will be used to support a bio-technology center at Lindblom Math and Science Academy, located on South Wolcott, where the announcement was made. The donation will also go toward creating two new schools as part of the Renaissance School fund.

"I believe that we have a responsibility to insure that future generations are given every opportunity to be educated in and inspired by science," said Robert L. Parkinson, Jr., Baxter Intl. Chairman & CEO.

Mayor Daley says this money will impact thousands of students. Baxter international produces healthcare products.
