Jury deliberates priest abuse case

During closing arguments Thursday, prosecutors told the jury that McGuire is a sexual predator who was disguised as a priest.

Defense attorneys say the alleged victim went to a civil lawyer to file a claim first before seeking anyone who would criminally prosecute the case.

The Oak Lawn man is charged with traveling outside the United States three times to have sex with a teenage boy. he was previously convicted in wisconsin of sex crimes involving children.

McGuire was a Jesuit priest until he was dismissed this year.
