Ill. residents line up for food stamps

They're hoping to get up to $500 dollars in food stamps offered by the federal government. Seven million dollars in emergency relief has been allocated for communities in Illinois hit by flooding in September.

In the past week, over $50,000 Illinois resident have become eligible for the disaster food stamp program.

Many waited outside for hours to apply for help.

The governor says the number of families asking for help getting food has increased 30 percent since last year.

He has pledged 500-thousand dollars to Illinois food banks.
