On election day, a record number of college students will work as equipment managers at polling places. Some of them were being trained on Sunday.

They were learning how to operate and fix the touch screen and optical scanning equipment. About 550 students from 18 area universities are participating. The bulk of them come from Loyola.

In addition, 1700 high school juniors and seniors will work as election judges on November 4.
