High costs for inauguration trips to D.C.

For anyone planning to travel to Washington in January to witness the historic inauguration of Barack Obama as president, be prepared to pay big bucks.Many of the 95,000 Washington, D.C.-area hotel rooms are already booked. A search of Priceline.com finds hotel rooms available in Baltimore, for $1,000 per night.

Some residents in that are trying to cash in by offering up their homes or condos to visitors. Those in search of such accommodations can check out Craigslis.com but should still be prepared to shell out some money. A single family home is going for $7,000 for the week.

As for getting to the District of Columbia, there are still flights available, but it might require some shopping around.
