Chicago cab drivers threaten to strike

With fares about to drop again, cab drivers are threatening to strike. The surcharge imposed last spring when gas prices were skyrocketing will end this Friday.

Last month, the taxi drivers union warned Mayor Daley to support a 16-percent fare hike starting January 1 or risk a strike.

City Hall says a fare hike is in the works but not until this spring.

Cab drivers say they will announce a strike date later this month.
