There's a new development in the case of a missing Northwestern University student. The university police department found a jacket and personal items belonging to 20-year-old Trevor Boehm on Thursday.

They were discovered among rocks on the shore of Lake Michigan on campus.

The Coast Guard searched the lake Thursday afternoon.

His disappearance was first reported by his parents after they showed up for a family weekend visit Saturday.

"The parents came into town, obviously expecting to meet their son, they did not, they notified university police first on Saturday and then filed a formal missing person on Sunday," said Alan Cubbage, university spokesperson.

Boehm has not been seen on campus for more than a week. His student ID has not been used since then.
