Man acquitted in teen's fatal shooting

CALUMET CITY The jury acquitted 23-year-old Mario Sawyer Friday.

He was accused of firing the shots that killed 17-year-old Samuel Rogers.

Investigators say Rogers was at a supervised party in Calumet City in November of last year. Prosecutors said Sawyer got kicked out of the party and later fired shots at the house, fatally striking Rogers.

The jury deliberated for less than two hours in the case.
