Police wound man on Far South Side

Chicago police shot a man overnight on the city's Far South Side.It happened at 131st Street and South Langley. Police say officers were confronted by an armed offender and an officer fired his gun.

The man was taken to a local hospital in stable condition. A handgun was recovered at the scene.

Chicago's Independent Police Review Authority is investigating.
