Death penalty still sought in children's murders

GLENDALE HEIGHTS An attorney for Kaushik Patel says the father had offered to plead guilty in exchange for a prison sentence.

Patel is accused of covering his two sons in gasoline and then setting them on fire in the bathroom of their home in November of last year.

Seven-year-old Vish and 4-year-old Om later died of their injuries.

Patel's trial is scheduled to begin April 21.
