Man shot by CPD awarded money

CHICAGO Crispus Booker was wounded by special operations officers six years ago. Booker says officers tried to frame him for a crime he didn't commit and he says the jury agreed.

"I'm just happy justice has been served and I want to thank the jurors," said Booker.

"The police department showed no interest in investigating misconduct which is why mister booker turned to civil justice system, pursued his rights in court," said Jon Loevy, attorney.

Police superintendent Jody Weis said on Friday, "the misdeeds of a few should not undermine the courage and service of the vast majority of police officers who served under SOS with integrity".
