Kanter had once lived at 54th Street and Oak Park Avenue more than 20 years ago, and the belief was she tried to head to that neighborhood.
Kanter went missing Sunday and was found outside Monday morning a few blocks away from a relative's house. Family members say she suffered some type of medical emergency, and she died at a hospital.
An autopsy is scheduled for later Tuesday.
