Lack of vitamin D increases C-section odds

According to a new Boston University study, women who are vitamin D deficient at the time of delivery are almost 4 times more likely to have a caesarean birth than women who are not deficient.

Researchers looked at 253 pregnant women for the study. Seventeen percent of them had undergone a c-section.

The study was published online in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism.
