Union urges DTV delay

The Consumer's Union wants the federal government to delay the mandated switch to all-digital television. One reason is that the money's run out for the $40 coupons the government was giving out to offset the cost of buying digital converter boxes.

The transition to DTV is set for February 17. That's when broadcasters including ABC7 will drop analog signals and broadcast only in digital.

ABC7 will be conducting a test next Monday evening at 6:23 p.m. If you see a message at that time, then you'll know you need to buy a digital converter box and connect it to your TV.
