Alderman wants bigger fine for talking while driving

A North Side alderman wants to get tough on those who use cell phones while driving -- raising fines to $100.Forty-third Wward Alderman Vi Daley has introduced an ordinance hiking fines for motorists who don't use a hands-free device. The current penalty is $75.

When cell phones lead to accidents, the proposed fine would go from $200 to $500.
