Immigrant groups are already calling on President Obama to begin working on reforming the US immigration policy. Members of the National Alliance of Latin American and Caribbean Communities wrote a letter to President Obama calling for a series of changes.

They want a halt on all residential and workplace raids as well as stopping immigration enforcement that results in the separation of US children from their immigrant parents.

President Obama has supported immigration reform including improving the speed and accuracy of background checks for becoming a citizen.
