An Illinois public health board has denied a request for expansion plans at a suburban hospital. The hospital's CEO helped the federal investigation that led to the arrest of Governor Rod Blagojevich.

The Illinois Health Facilities Planning Board has voted to reject Edward Hospital's plans to build a new facility in Plainfield.

Hospital CEO Pamela Davis said she believes staff members on the board blocked the project because she blew the whistle on alleged corruption. She contacted the FBI after she says she was warned the planning board would deny approval of the new building unless the hospital used a certain contractor and investment firm.
