There was a meet and 'tweet' in downtown Chicago to raise money for deserving communities.People gathered at Catalyst Ranch on West Randolph for 'Twestival 2009'.

The event brought together almost 300 Chicago area twitter users, including our own Jerry Taft.

'Twitter' is a social networking site.

On Thursday night, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. local micro-bloggers joined more than 100 cities around the globe, hosting similar events. They're all raising money for a group dedicated to providing clean drinking water to developing nations.

And Jerry Taft made a few friends.
