Police say a convicted drunk driver who had an ignition lock on his own car crashed a rental car while driving under the influence. Twenty-seven-year-old Marvin Rice Jr. struck a utility pole early Sunday in Brentwood, New York.

Officials say, after a previous DUI, Rice agreed to have a device placed on his car that tests for alcohol in a driver's breath before the car can start.

It's unclear when Rice rented a car without such that device. He is expected to face new charges.
