CPS board president resigns

Chicago School Board President Rufus Williams has handed in his resignation, according to a school board spokesperson.Williams took the job as school board president more than three years ago under former schools CEO Arne Duncan.

Mayor Daley appointed Ron Huberman to replace Duncan as schools chief and hinted at that time that Williams might be replaced.

The mayor's office confirms that former Chicago Board of Education president Michael Scott is expected to replace Williams.
