2 in custody after barricade incident

Chicago police took two people into custody early Saturday morning and seized several weapons following a barricade incident. The situation began about 11:45 p.m. Friday at a home in the 10600-block of South Ewing Avenue in the East Chicago neighborhood.

Police said officers heard shots fired and saw a person run into a home, where he barricaded himself inside.

One source said the man was shooting from a back porch.

Several streets in the area had to be closed to traffic.

Two people were taken into police custody, and at least two weapons were recovered at the scene.

No injuries were reported.
