Group protests outside city council meeting

A group called "Communities for an Equitable Olympics" is demonstrating outside City Hall.They want a written agreement that guarantees:
  • 50% of construction contracts be awarded to women and minority owned businesses.
  • a construction apprenticeship program promising 10% of all work hours for workers new to the trades
  • -Affordable housing in the proposed Olympic Village
  • A community benefits agreement ordinance has been sent to the City Council Finance Committee, meaning it won't be voted on until after the International Olympic Committee visits the first week of April.

    At least two activist groups are threatening disruptive protests during the IOC visit.
