Harsher penalty for impersonating Chicago cop

The Chicago City Council passed harsher penalties for impersonating a police officer or firefighter. Instead of a $100 fine the imposters now face a misdemeanor charge that's punishable by six months in jail and a fine of between $1,000 and $1,500.

The change was triggered by the case of a Chicago teenager who was arrested after allegedly putting on a police uniform and riding around in a squad car.
