The death of a southwest suburban man whose body was found earlier this week has been ruled a homicide. James Farrely, 44, was found dead in his Evergreen Park apartment on Tuesday. An autopsy determined his death was caused by blunt trauma to the head.

A police source says Farrelly's car is missing and presumed stolen.

The investigation is being handled by the south suburban major crimes task force.

This is the first murder in Evergreen Park since 2005.
