City holds off on closing clinics

April 7, 2009 (CHICAGO) The clinics were set to close on Tuesday.

Earlier this year, Mayor Daley blamed the state for the clinic closings. On Tuesday, the mayor would not say how long the reprieve would last.

"One of the reasons why is $1.2 million was cut from the state budget. We are looking into that. We take this seriously. We've met with a group of people and we're putting that on hold to find out some of the issues there," said Daley.

Mayor Daley did not say where the money to operate the centers would come from.
