Teammates are mourning the death of the Los Angeles Angels pitcher killed in a car crash whose mother and step-dad live in northwest suburban Algonquin. Rookie pitcher Nick Adenhart was killed early Thursday morning along with two passengers in a crash involving a suspected drunk driver in Fullerton, California.

Fans have been paying their respects outside Angel Stadium with a makeshift memorial.

Before Friday night's game in Anaheim the Angels will honor Adenhart with a tribute. Players will wear a special patch all year in recognition of Adenhart.

Police have booked the suspect who allegedly caused the deadly accident. They say he was driving on a suspended license from a previous DUI.
