Boy uses allowance on baskets for sick children

April 11, 2009 (CHICAGO) Jeremiah Minor saved his allowance for more than a year just to bring smiles to the faces of the sick children. With more than 50 Easter baskets in tow Saturday, Jeremiah made special deliveries to children at three Chicago area hospitals.

"I'm giving the kids the Easter baskets because I felt sorry because all the other kids are getting Easter baskets and they're not," the boy told ABC7 Chicago while delivering baskets at Stroger hospital.

The baskets were a welcome surprise to the young patients.

Jeremiah picked out all the baskets himself, and a family member's church donated some money to help him buy some of the items.

The boy says he encourages other kids to think of children in the hospital over the holidays.
