Chicago Tribune cuts more staff

April 13, 2009 Crain's Chicago Business reports the Tribune is getting rid of another 20 percent of its workers to reduce costs amid declines in advertising.

Staffers were told of the layoffs last week, according to three people who attended a meeting on the topic.

The cuts will reportedly take place over the next several weeks.

The newspaper's parent company filed for bankruptcy last December. The tribune cut 20 jobs last February.

ABC7 was unable to reach the newspaper for a comment.
