Alton Logan exonerated Friday

April 17, 2009 Logan always said he was innocent in the shooting death of a security guard at a South Side McDonald's in 1982.

He was released from prison last year.

Convicted cop killer Andrew Wilson confessed to his lawyers that he killed the guard, but because of attorney-client privilege, they did not reveal his confession until after Wilson died in prison.

"This is not a time for anger. This is a joyous time. I've now got my life where I can live again," Logan said.

A judge today issued a certificate of innocence for Logan Friday. Logan hopes this will help him in his efforts to find work.
