Workers return to Ford after furlough

Fourteen hundred workers at the Ford assembly plant in Chicago returned to work Monday morning after a three-week furlough.The company idled the plant because of decreasing demand.

Last month, the United Auto Workers union agreed to a concession package impacting cost-of-living raises, holiday pay and cash bonuses.

The Torrence Avenue plant produces the Ford Taurus, Mercury Sable and Lincoln MKS.
