Lowered HRT use reducing women's heart risk

April 24, 2009 The study found when hormone replacement therapy use decreased after 2002 there was also a drop in the rate of heart attacks among American women. But there was no decrease in the rate of strokes.

Researchers admit the lower rate of heart attacks may be due to better screening for heart disease risk factors and better awareness of women's heart attack symptoms by physicians.
